A Cincinnati area father is under arrest after his 4-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son told authorities he “hit them with a belt because they bothered him while he was playing video games,” court records show.
Shaun Dewberry, 43, of Lockland is held without bond at the Hamilton County Justice Center on two counts of endangering children.
He will make his first court appearance in the case at 9 a.m. Friday.
Court records show he is accused of hitting his children “multiple times” with a belt at their home on Dexter Avenue in Lockland on Sunday, Feb. 4.
The 6-year-old boy had visible severe bruising on his left arm as well as his back and both legs and feet, police wrote in an affidavit.
The 4-year-old girl had visible serious injuries to her legs and back.
“Father admitted during (an) interview with” Hamilton County Department of Job & Family Services “that he occasionally uses the belt as a means of discipline,” police wrote in the affidavit.
