As reported by Click On Detroit:

Detroit police have arrested a fifth person of interest connected to the drive-by shooting of an 11-year-old girl.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday (Feb. 20) at 4 a.m. at a home on Pennsylvania Street near Gratiot Avenue.

Officials said the 11-year-old girl was asleep on a couch at the front of the house when multiple shooters approached the home and fired at least 23 bullets.

Detroit police Chief James White said four people had already been taken into custody.

White also said that a gun in connection with the shooting had been recovered, and he also believes that the shooting was connected to an auto theft ring in the area.

Detroit police said there were 15-20 people inside the home when at least two shooters targeted it.

Police confirmed the house was targeted by a shooting in December.
