Mothers United Against Gun Violence are Taking a Stand Against the Birmingham Beasts.

As reported by WVTM 13:

Mothers in Birmingham are coming together to stop gun violence from happening in their communities.

Wyatangy Peak- Finny lost her son to gun violence in 2017. She is now standing up for change with Mothers United Against Gun Violence to keep this from happening to other mothers.

“Gun violence is erupting in our communities and it’s taking the lives of our young people,” Peak-Finney said.

Mothers say they are hurt and frustrated after years of senseless gun violence. Boots are now on the ground to help bring resources and support to people during this time.

This past weekend, Mothers United and several community members got the chance to share their stories of how their lives were changed due to gun violence.

So far, the organization has helped more than 60 mothers who are grieving over the loss of their children.

“This is real. We need to stand here with a purpose and a passion to make sure when it happens to the next person, we need to be there with open arms to be fair and reasonable and compassionate to what they're going through," Peak-Finney said.
