As reported by The Nebraska State Patrol has identified the victims of a double murder at a bowling alley in the northeast Nebraska town of Bloomfield.

NSP said Curtis Strom, 77, and William Reffett, 49, were killed.

Authorities responded to a report of a shooting at Curt’s Lanes and Dining on Tuesday shortly after 9:30 a.m.

During a Wednesday morning press conference, NSP Captain Dane Hicks said investigators, assisting the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Bloomfield Police Department, revealed that Alias Reed, 25, went to the bowling alley with a shotgun and began arguing with Reffett.

The argument escalated, leading to Reed shooting Reffett and later Strom, who owned the bowling alley, even though Strom was not involved in the initial argument.

Reed left the scene, and no other witnesses were reported.

In response to the shooting, area schools were placed on lockdown, and several businesses closed.

Further investigation led troopers to discover the suspected murder weapon, a shotgun, in a ditch west of town.
