More Than 20 Passes Were Thrown at the Residence With No Completions.

As reported by the Yakima Herald-Republic:

A Grandview man is being held in the Yakima County jail on suspicion of ordering a drive-by shooting targeting a gang member.

Instead, police said more than 20 rounds were fired into the garage of the home of two people not connected with either the suspect or the intended target of the shooting.

Grandview police went to the 1000 block of King Street around 11:10 p.m. Feb. 2 for a report of shots fired. Police did not find anything in the area and left, according to a probable cause affidavit. When called a second time around 11:35 p.m., a witness told police the gunshots sounded like they were coming from the east, and officers found 14 9 mm shell casings in the 900 block of King Street, and bullet strikes on a garage in the 700 block of Euclid Road that faced King Street and was next to the home of the gang member, the affidavit said.

Inside the garage, officers found a snowblower had been struck by a bullet, the affidavit said. A witness in the area spotted a car driving off at the time of the shootings, and police used the FLOCK camera system to identify the vehicle and when it was in the area.

Officers were called back around 3 a.m. Feb. 3 for another shooting, this time finding nine more shell casings in the road and additional bullet holes in the garage, the affidavit said.
